Huawei plans to release the Mate X which is a foldable smartphone in October or November, this was made known by Huawei’s Consumer CEO “Yu ChengDong during IFA conference in Berlin.
The Company is doing various tests now, Huawei Mate X will come in two versions according to some reporters, the Kirin 980 was listed on MWC this year January, there will be another version which will require no external baseband and that is the version with Kirin 990 which has 5G Network.
The Kirin 990 5G chip integrates the 5G baseband chip Balong 5000 and this helps it to support SA/NSA dual architecture and TDD/FDD full frequency band which also makes it to support 5G Network without an external 5G chip. Kirin 990 uses 4 A76 big cores and 4 A55 small cores in terms of CPU and it comes with an ARM Mali G76 GPU.
This makes its performance to increase by 6% and it’s energy efficiency topped by 20%, The HisiliconKirin 990 also comes with Huawei’s self-developed DaVinci architecture NPU and the micro core achieves ultra-low power consumption.
The ISP is increased to Kirin ISP 5.0 and supports LPDDR4X storage as well as a UFS 2.1/3.0 flash.
The download rate is 2.3Gbps, and the uplink peak rate is 1.25Gbps. After superimposing LTE, the download peak rate is 3.3Gbps and the uplink peak rate is 1.32Gbps.
