There is a lot of smartphones boasting a higher refresh rate screen this days, Xiaomi said “Mmm.. should we be left out? no we are going to do our own!” So Xiaomi seems to be working on a smartphone with 120Hz refreshed rate display.

This was reported by XDA-developers and according to them, Xiaomi added the refresh rate display code in the MIUI 11 Beta setting. In the setting, MIUI provides two choices of 120Hz and 60Hz. Selecting 120Hz will prompt a smoother pictures while 60Hz will prompt power-saving operation. This suggests that Xiaomi already has a 120Hz flagship device. From the setting options, MIUI does not provide the 90Hz option. For the time being, it is uncertain if the 90Hz option will join the stable version.

We don’t know yet which of the Xiaomi models line up will take the 120Hz display and the MIUI 11, However, this feature will likely come with the MIX or digital series. Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will arrive in H1 2020 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. Looking at the time schedule of the MIX 4, it will not be a surprise if it uses a 120Hz refresh rate display.
