Xiaomi and it Redmi sub-brand just announced their Note 12 series of 5G phones few days ago. And with the Xiaomi 12T-series out of the way, we know that the next major set of smartphone to expect from the company will be their flagship 13-series.

A lot has been saturating the internet lately regarding these two upcoming smartphones. And base on the few that has been confirmed, the series will have the vanilla Xiaomi 13, and a 13 Pro model on it lists. Both of these are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Xiaomi has had a bunch of ‘Qualcomm firsts’ in the past. Recently, the vanilla Redmi Note 12 5G was the first device to house the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 5G CPU. Also, the Xiaomi 12-series was the first set of smartphones to get Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Now, Qualcomm is prepping to release their Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and the Xiaomi 13 and the 13 Pro will be among the first lists of phone to use the new SoC, that is if not the very first.

We’ve also been told that the upcoming Xiaomi 13 and the 13 Pro might utilize the same screen size that was seen on the current 12-series. That would mean, the vanilla 13 will come in a compact 6.26-inches screen with FHD+ panel, while the Pro model will touch 6.7-inches with 2K display panel. But both device will be based on Samsung’s E6 OLED panel, with up to 120Hz refresh.

What is more? Rumor also has it that both the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will come with impressive camera setup, possibly to the standard of the Xiaomi 12s Ultra. As per reports emanating from Digital Chat Station via Weibo, the 13 Pro for example will utilize Sony IMX989 image sensor, the same senor behind the 12S ultra.

Furthermore, he has also listed about four smartphone brands that are already working on smartphones with Qualcomm’s unannounced 8 Gen 2 and their expected charging speed for both the normal and Pro models. These includes Xiaomi (13-series probably) 67W/120W, vivo X90 series 80W/120W, iQOO11 series 120W/200W, and Honor Magic folding with 66W.
