The Tecno Camon 20 series is set to launch tomorrow, May 9, 2023. The series will consists of four smartphones: the vanilla Camon 20, Camon 20 Pro 4G, Camon 20 Pro 5G, and the Tecno Camon 20 Premier.
Here is what we know about each smartphone so far:
Tecno Camon 20
The Tecno Camon 20 will be the most affordable smartphone in the series. It will pack a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a Mediatek Helio G85 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
The smartphone will also come with a triple-camera system on the back, consisting of a 64MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a QVGA Ai lens. On the front, the smartphone has a 32MP selfie camera. Available color options on here will include Predawn Black, Glacier Glow, Serenity Blue.
Tecno Camon 20 Pro 4G
Then the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 4G. This will be a mid-range smartphone in the series. It will house a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a Mediatek Helio G99 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, and a 5000mAh.
The Camon 20 Pro 4G camera setup will be the same with the standard Camon 20. The obvious difference is the upgrade from Helio G85 to Helio G99. This model will come in two color options; Predawn Black and Serenity Blue.
Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G
There will also be the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G model. It will be a premium model in the series. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a Mediatek Dimensity 8050 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
The model will retain similar camera configuration like the two aforementioned models. But, the main 64-megapixel sensor will be given an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and the third Ai lens will be replace by a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Color options here will include Dark Welkin and Serenity Blue.
Tecno Camon 20 Premier
The most premium device in the series will be the Tecno Camon 20 Premier fitted will more advance camera techs and ultrawide image stabilization, just like what we saw on the Camon 18 Premier. It will features the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a Mediatek Dimensity 8050 processor, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
The camera specification on this model will consists of a 108MP main sensor, an 13MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. In addition to the OIS on the Pro 5G version, the Camon 20 Premier model will also offer Laser Autofocus, and will be available in the same Dark Welkin and Serenity Blue colors.
Final Notes
All four smartphones in the Tecno Camon 20 series will run Android 13 with HiOS 13 on top. The Camon 20 and Camon 20 Pro 4G models will have a sided fingerprint scanner, while the Camon 20 Pro 5G and the Camon 20 Premier will use an optical under display fingerprint scanner.
Also, only the Camon 20 Premier will have 45W fast charger, the rest of the models will come with 33W chargers. They will also come with a variety of features, such as, a face unlock feature, and the ability to use dual Nano SIMs.
The Tecno Camon 20 series is expected to be launched in Africa and Asia. The prices of the smartphones have not been revealed yet, but they are expected to be affordable. For Nigeria, the model will be announced tomorrow, the 9th of May 2023. Tecno might also launch the Camon 20 Pro Doodle Edition, which will be a special model of the Pro 4G version, just as we saw with the Camon 19 Pro Mondrian model of last year.
