Vivo has announced three new smartphones under the V27 series, namely the Vivo V27, Vivo V27 Pro, and Vivo V27e. While the Vivo V27e is the entry-level device with weaker specifications and without 5G support, the Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro are both solid mid-range smartphones with excellent cameras.
The Vivo V27 Pro features a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset that performs almost as well as flagship devices, with AnTuTu scores of more than 800,000 points. On the other hand, the Vivo V27 comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, which is also focused on the middle-class market.
While there are no performance statistics available yet, Vivo promises scores of around 600,000 points, similar to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 used in the Xiaomi 13 Lite smartphone. The Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro have similar designs, with the only difference being the colors available for the Pro model – black and blue.
In terms of memory, the Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro both come with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. However, there is no support for memory cards. Both phones also have large AMOLED screens measuring 6.78 inches with a resolution of 1080×2400 (388 ppi) and a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. However, unlike the Vivo V27e, the screens of the V27 and V27 Pro are strongly rounded.
The Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro are powered by average-sized 4600 mAh batteries, which can be charged quickly with the 66-watt charging feature. Both phones also have front cameras with 50 MP autofocus. The Vivo V27 Pro uses the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor with a relatively small matrix, while the Vivo V27 is likely to have the same sensor, though this is yet to be confirmed.
The phones also have three rear cameras with 50+8+2 MP. The 8 + 2 MP cameras are unremarkable in terms of their wide-angle and macro capabilities. The wide-angle camera sensor used in the Vivo V27 Pro is the OmniVision OV8D1, which is relatively unknown and has not been used in smartphones before. The main camera, however, is quite good, with a relatively large Sony IMX766V sensor and optical stabilization.
Both the Vivo V27 and Vivo V27 Pro also come with Type-C and dual-band Wi-Fi. However, the Vivo V27 Pro does not support “our” LTE bands, including the seven and twenty, which is a bit strange. The Vivo V27, on the other hand, has a wider set of frequencies and all the necessary features.
In terms of pricing, the Vivo V27 starts from ₹32,999 ($399) for the 8+128 GB version, and goes up to ₹36,999 ($447) for the 12+256 GB version. The Vivo V27 Pro, on the other hand, starts from ₹37,999 ($459) for the 8+128 GB version, and goes up to ₹42,999 ($520) for the 12+256 GB version.
