Xiaomi have just announced her Redmi K50G, a bleeding-edge gaming smartphone with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen1 CPU and a whooping 4 stereo speakers. The phone is actually available in two version; the standard unit, and an AMG F1 unit, which is in collaboration with Mercedes AMG.
The phone features a 6.67-inch FHD+ screen on the front, with a flexible OLED screen that has up to 120Hz high refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate and over 1900Hz PWM color adjustment.
From the outward design to the phone’s inner specs, it wholly designed for gamers. The device come with physical customizable gaming trigger, with promised improved stoke and functionalities, over the ones found on the predecessors. Also, the phone now has triple WiFi Antennae, bringing almost 30% improvement to latency while gaming.
The aforementioned four speakers comprises of dual subwoofers and dual tweeter speaker, all aimed at improving sound fidelity and gaming feeback from the phone. Talking about feedback, the Redmi K50G is the world’s first smartphone to be equipped with CyberEngine 1016 X-axis motor vibrator, which Redmi says can cover frequencies between 50Hz-500Hz, for richer vibrations effects.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU on the inside gets a 4860mm² dual vapor chambers and a large graphite area for better heat dissipation. The standard models of the K50G comes in either 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM, switching between 128/256GB ROM. However, the K50 AMG F1 model on the other hand is available only in 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model.
Coming to the camera department, the phone has a 64MP rear camera, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP telemacro sensor, while a single 20-megapixel selfie lens is used on the front.
It comes in 162.5x 76.7 x 8.5 mm body, and weigh 210 grams. Within this body, there is a 4700mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge fast charging that can pump the phone from 0 to 100% in just 17 crazy minutes. Well, MIUI 13 is available out of the box, and it is based on Android 12 OS.
Coming to pricing and availability, the Redmi K50G comes in Black, Blue and Silver color, and priced as follows;
- 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM = 3,299 yuan or $520
- 12GB RAM + 128GB ROM = 3,599 yuan or $567
- 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM = 3,899 yuan or $614
The K50G AMG F1 Mercedes collaboration model with 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM is price at 49,720 yuan, an equivalent of $662 US Dollars.
All model will go on sale in China starting from February 18th. No words about international availability, but if Xiaomi’s old pattern are followed, then the K50G may debut on the international sphere as POCO F4 GT.
