The Xiaomi Redmi 8A is the direct successor of Redmi 7A, and also the cheaper version of standard Redmi 8. Xiaomi tried to achieve even a more cheaper device running on the Snapdragon 439 CPU, appealing not only to the young, but to all budget minded Android users. The device comes in a 6.2-inch HD+ display, with a 720 x 1520 pixels resolution, featuring a notch display cut-out, which host the front-facing camera.
On the hardware department, there is the aforementioned mentioned octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 CPU clocked at 2.0Ghz, along with Adreno 505 GPU. The device is available in two memory options: a 2GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and a 3GB RAM and same 32GB internal storage, with support for external SD card up to 1TB on both sides.
On the camera department, the Redmi 8A comes with a 12 MP main camera along with a single LED flash, while an 8 megapixel sensor seats in the display cut-out upfront. To save cost, Xiaomi decide to omitted a fingerprint sensor, leaving users with other Android security options such as FaceID, Password or the popular Android pattern.
But the most interesting part is the presence of a larger 5000mah battery, which support for 18W fast charging via USB Type-C interface. The device run Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box, and provides support for dual SIMs with 4G LTE networks on both SIMs. Other specification and silent features of the Xiaomi Redmi 8A smartphone are detailed in the table below.
