Huawei has made a significant announcement in China, unveiling the nova 11 series which includes three new phones: the vanilla nova 11, nova 11 Pro, and nova 11 Ultra, all featuring a signature green paint job. All three models are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset, but limited to 4G-only network.
A closer look on the Nova 11 Pro and Ultra
The nova 11 Ultra and Pro model both feature a 6.78″ 10-bit AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. The resolution is 2652 x 1200 pixels, and some versions come with Kunlun Glass protection and slightly curved edges. There is a pill-shaped hole in the upper left corner for the dual selfie cameras.
The front camera setup includes a 60MP wide camera with a 100-degree field of view (FoV) and an 8MP camera with 2x optical zoom for portrait purposes.
The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP main camera with an aperture that can toggle between f/1.4 and f/4.0, RYYB sensor, and laser autofocus (AF), an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a “ten-channel color temperature sensor” for color adjustments.
Both the nova 11 Pro and Ultra come with a 4,500mAh battery and support 100W charging, with the required adapter included in the retail box.
Other features include HarmonyOS 3.0 and a vegan leather back on the Green and Black versions, while the White and Gold versions have glass backs. Storage options for the nova 11 Pro include 256GB and 512GB, while the nova 11 Ultra comes with 512GB only.
Pricing of Huawei Nova 11 Pro and Nova 11 Ultra
The nova 11 Pro is priced from CNY3,499 ($510) without Kunlun Glass, with an additional CNY200 ($30) for the extra protection. The 256GB version costs CNY3,999 ($582) but does not include the fancy glass. The nova 11 Ultra is priced at CNY4,499 ($655), with an additional CNY500 ($70) for Kunlun Glass and satellite messaging.
The Nova 11 is got only a single 60-megapixel selfie camera
The vanilla nova 11 retains the 10-bit AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, but comes with a larger 6.7″ flat display. The rear camera setup includes the same 50MP + 8MP cameras and color temperature sensor, while the front camera setup only includes the 60MP wide camera.
The battery capacity is also 4,500mAh, but charging is limited to 66W. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 with BLE, and the UI is HarmonyOS 3.0. The nova 11 comes in Green, Black, White, and Gold colors, but all versions have plastic on top.
Pricing of Huawei Nova 11
Prices start from CNY2,499 ($363) for the 128GB version and CNY2,799 ($410) for the 256GB version. Adding Kunlun Glass is an extra CNY200 ($30) for the more expensive option.
There is also a version with 512GB storage available only in Green or Black, with the fancier protective glass, priced at CNY3,399 ($495). Pre-orders for all the nova 11 series phones are open in China, with the first sale scheduled for April 26th at 10:08 AM local time.
