Lava has just introduced its latest 5G smartphone in the Agni 2 5G in India ahead of rival Realme and its 11 Pro+ smartphone. The Agni 2 5G boasts a 6.78″ FHD+ dual curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is the first in the segment.
It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, along with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. This is the same CPU expected on the upcoming Realme 11 Pro+, which is already tagged as coming soon in India.
The phone runs on Android 13 without any bloatware and has a matte finish Viridian color double-reinforced glass protection, making the Agni 2 5G a well-positioned competitor to Realme’s 11 Pro+.
In terms of camera, the phone has a 50MP Quad Camera that comes with the segment’s first 1.0-micron (1um) pixel sensor, capturing more light and richer details, according to the company.
The phone has support for 13 5G bands, and the battery packs a 4700mAh capacity with support for 66W fast charging. On the contrary, upcoming Realme 11 Pro+ is expected to have a larger 200-megapixel main sensor and should offer a 5000mAh battery with up to a 100W fast charger.
As for pricing, the Lava Agni 2 5G is priced at Rs. 21,999, a notably cheaper price tag than the rumored Rs. 39,999 for the competitor’s offer when launched. The Agni 2 5G will be available from Amazon.in starting from May 24th.
The company offers Agni Mitra service, an industry-first approach, to replace the phone in any scenario of hardware issues during the warranty period, with a dedicated personal ‘Agni Mitra’ to resolve the customer’s issues on priority.
Furthermore, the launch offer includes a flat discount of Rs. 2000 on all major credit and debit cards, making the device even cheaper than its upcoming competitor. Anyways, time shall tell how these two rivals will perform in the barebone market.
