Motorola Edge+ 2023 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and up to 165Hz screen refresh announced

Motorola has launched the edge+, a new high-end smartphone for the US market. The device features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 165Hz 10-bit pOLED screen with Dolby Vision, and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone has a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with macro option, 12MP 2X portrait telephoto lens, and a 60MP front camera.

It is also equipped with IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance, ThinkShield, Moto Secure, and Family Space features, and runs on Android 13, with a promise of 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of bi-monthly security updates.

The device has a sandblasted aluminium middle frame and a matte glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It packs a 5100mAh battery with support for 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, as well as 5W reverse charging.

The Motorola Edge+ is available in Interstellar Black color, and is priced at $799.99 in the US and CA$1299.99 in Canada. The phone will be available in the US universally unlocked at Best Buy, Amazon.com, and Motorola.com starting May 25th with pre-orders starting from May 19th.

It will also be available at Boost Infinite and Boost Mobile in the coming weeks, with subsequent availability at Spectrum Mobile and Consumer Cellular.
