Images of what are believed to be engineering prototypes for the OPPO Find X8 and X8 Pro smartphones have leaked online, revealing some key details about their camera systems. The leak comes courtesy of tech blogger @数码闲聊站 (Digital Chat Station) who shared the information on Weibo.
The leak suggests the standard Find X8 will sport a triple-camera system with a single periscope lens. The main camera is rumored to be a 50MP sensor with a large 1/1.4-inch size.
The Find X8 Pro appears to be getting the more impressive camera setup, boasting a quad-camera system with not one, but two periscope lenses. The main camera on the Pro model is also expected to be a 50MP sensor with the same 1/1.4-inch size.
The leak also sheds light on the type of sensor used in the new periscope module. According to the information, it will be the Sony IMX882 sensor (also known as LYT600) with a size of 1/1.953 inches. The model of the 1/1.4-inch main camera sensor remains unknown, but speculation suggests it could be the Sony LYT-808.
Earlier reports had already indicated that the standard OPPO Find X8 might come equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor and a smaller 1.5K display. Both the Find X8 and X8 Pro are expected to launch sometime in October of this year, with the much-anticipated Find X8 Ultra rumored for a release in early 2025.
