Realme has officially unveiled its latest gem, the Realme 12 5G. If you’re already familiar with its predecessor, the Realme 11 5G Global, you might notice some striking similarities at first glance.
Let’s break it down. The Realme 12 5G shares many features with its predecessor, such as the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset and a robust 5000 mAh battery. However, Realme has made some adjustments to the formula.
First up, let’s talk cameras. The selfie shooter resolution has been halved to eight megapixels, and charging speeds have been dialed back to 45W, down from the Realme 11’s 67W.
In terms of appearance, there’s been a noticeable refresh, giving the Realme 12 its own distinct look. Plus, Android has received an update to keep things fresh and up-to-date.
Under the hood, you’ll find either 6 or 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage, offering a decent amount of space for your apps and media. And if you need more room, microSD cards are fully supported.
The Realme 12 5G sports an S-IPS display, stretching 6.72 inches diagonally with a resolution of 1080×2400 and the-almost standard 120Hz refresh rate.
Moving on to the cameras, the rear setup boasts a 108MP main sensor, likely the Samsung ISOCELL HM6, alongside a 2MP depth sensor for those portrait shots. On the front, you’ll find an 8MP selfie camera.
So, what’s the price tag on this new offer? The Realme 12 5G starts at ₹14,999 for the 6+128GB variant and ₹17,999 for the 8+128GB model, making it a competitive option for budget-conscious buyers.
While this is generally a good pricing bracket, it is difficult to tell where potential buyers should put their money: is it on the newer Realme 12 5G with some of it dialed down specifications, or should user add a thousand Rupees and go with the company’s last year offer – the 11 5G?
