Most of the Samsung Galaxy phones promised with Android 12 updates has already received, except for few left overs here and there. Interestingly, the Galaxy M11, which happens to be one of these left overs, is now getting Google Android 12 update.
The update is based on Samsung’s One UI 4.1. It comes with a firmware version M115FXXU3CVF6, and it is merged with June 2022 Android Security patch.
Recall that the Galaxy M11 was announced back on March 30, 2020, and it boot Android 10 out of the box. Samsung later released Android 11 update for the battery centric smartphone back in May of 2021.
This means the current Android 12 update, is the second and probably the last major update for the M11, going by Samsung’s 2-years software update policy as at when the device was originally introduced.
We won’t be surprise however to see few more security patches before the company finally abandon the device.
Sadly we were not able to lay our hands on the update change logs as at when this news was written. However, some of the combined features of Android 12 and One UI 4.1 includes, but not limited to;
- Visual customization features based on Android’s Material You design
- Updated several Samsung apps
- Samsung Pay changed in One UI 4.1
- New theme preview icon
- Introduction of customized Smart Widgets for One UI 4.1 etc.
This update will start sending from Vietnam, and journeying down to other markets. Since it is an OTA, you should receive a notification by default. But you can also trigger it manually by heading to Settings => Software Update.
