Snapdragon 680 powered Vivo Y21T goes official in Indonesia

Vivo have just announced the Y21t smartphone in Indonesia. The device is not just the latest phone on the company’s Y21-line up, but also the world first smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 680 octa-core CPU. By naming terminology, this new Snapdragon 680 is supposed to be the higher version of the Snapdragon 480, but the opposite is actually the case.

Talking about CPU power, the Snapdragon 680 CPU on the Vivo Y21T has 4-Kryo 265 Gold @2.4Ghz, and 4-Kryo 265 Silver @1.9Ghz, along with Adreno 610 GPU. For comparison sake, the Snapdragon 480 Chipset has dual-core Kryo 460 Gold @2.0GHz and six-core Kryo 460 Silver @1.8 GHz along with Adreno 619, and most importantly, it support 5G LTE network, while it 680 counterpart does not.

Design wise, the Y21T borrows it looks and physical design from the Y21s announced back in September. The camera department did not change either; a set of three rear lenses, pioneered by a 50-megapixel primary lens, along with dual 2-megapixel sensors for macro and depth gymnastics.

The device also has 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. It support dual 4G SIMs, and boot Google Android 11 with Funtouch OS 12 out of the box.

The phone comes in 164.3 x 76.1 x 8 mm body, and weighs about 182 grams. The screen on the front is maxed at 6.51-inches, and the panel is IPS with 720 x 1600 pixels. It has a little dewdrop on the head, which is the space reserve for the 8-megapixel frontal camera.

Painting option on the Vivo Y21T is Midnight Blue and Pearl White. The model will go on sales today on Shopee Indonesia, and the recommended sales price is 3,099,000 rupees, or an equivalent of $215.
