The Tecno Camon 12 Air has been launched almost globally but it was just getting to India three days ago, the Camon 12 Air has been launched in India, it the youngest brother to the Camon 12 and Camon 12 Pro but the only thing that makes it to standout aesthetically is the punch hole display that it has. It also bears a triple rear camera setup, MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and a 4,000mAh battery as its other highlight features.
The Tecno Camon 12 Air price in India has been set at Rs. 9,999, and is available via offline retail stores. It will be sold in Bay Blue and Stellar Purple colour variants. Commenting on the launch, Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, Transsion India, said in a statement, “Tecno Camon 12 Air is currently holding the crown of bringing the most affordable ‘Dot in-display’ in the offline space. We are confident that with this new festive product portfolio, we will amaze the consumer and consolidate our brand position among Top 5 offline smartphone brands of India under Rs. 10,000-segment.”
For specs, it comes with a 6.5-inch Punch hole IPS LCD display, it’s an HD+ display which means it has a resolution of 720 by 1280 pixels, this device is pretty tall, it’s a 19:5:9 aspect device which has a PPI Density of 263, the display is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but they didn’t specify the version that will be coming with it.
Under the hood, it is powered by Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 Chip which has an Octa core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, it runs on Android 9 pie with HIOS 5.5 slapped on top of it, it has PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics or gaming. The Indian version has it processor paired with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
In terms of camera, this device spot a triple rear cameras which includes the 16mp camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a led flash, the other camera is an Ultra wide angle camera which is an 5mp camera with f/2.2 aperture, 2mp depth sensor with f/2.2, on the front, it has an 8mp selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, both the front and back camera records video in 1080p at 30fps.
The smartphone will be offered in two colour options which include Aura Blue and Gradient Gray. It has a rear mounted fingerprint scanner and what is keeping the light on is a 4,000mAh Li-Po battery which supports 10W normal charging.
