The long awaited Redmi 12 smartphone from Xiaomi is almost ready to make official debut as per recent details. While these details are not officially confirmed, they provide exciting glimpse into what the device may offer.
According to the report, the Redmi 12 is expected to feature a plastic body and frame, measuring 168.60 × 76.28 × 8.17 mm and weigh 199 grams. Powering the smartphone is a sizable 5000mAh battery, with reports suggesting support for either 18W or 33W fast charging capabilities.
In terms of the display, the Redmi 12 is rumored to boast a 6.79-inch IPS TFT screen, delivering Full HD+ resolution (2460×1080) and a pixel density of 396 PPI.
The display is expected to be safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and it may have up to 90Hz refresh, along with Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync Refresh rate technology, which can intelligently adjust the refresh rate based on the content being displayed.
Under the hood, the Redmi 12 is speculated to come equipped with a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, complemented by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Furthermore, the device may offer expandable storage via a microSD card, allowing users to potentially extend the capacity up to 1TB.
On the camera front, the Redmi 12 is rumored to sport an impressive 50MP main camera, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens, while an 8MP front-facing camera with a wide aperture of f/2.5 will be used on the front.
Additional features expected on the Redmi 12 include dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, fingerprint recognition, and AI face recognition for enhanced security and convenience. It is speculated that the device will come pre-installed with MIUI 13, based on Android 13.
While official details are yet to be announced, reports suggest that the Redmi 12 could make its debut in Europe on June 2. It is anticipated to be available in blue, silver, and black color options, with an estimated price of 199 euros.
