Xiaom has officially announced its latest camera flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The device boasts several notable features, including an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, as well as an anti-bacterial coating.
The rear shell of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes in three color options – olive green, black, and white – and is wrapped in leather, giving it a unique and premium look. The metal ring around the camera island also adds to the aesthetics, with a copper or silver color that corresponds with the body color.
One of the key highlights of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is its camera capabilities. The device features a camera island with four 50-megapixel lenses, all equipped with Sony IMX sensors.
The main rear camera utilizes a Sony IMX989 sensor combined with a Leica Summicron lens and Leica’s one-inch variable aperture technology, allowing for two aperture sizes – f/1.9 and f/4.0.
The device also includes an in-house designed cooling system that enables it to shoot continuous 4K videos at 60 frames per second without overheating.
Additionally, there are three other cameras on the back of the device, each with a Sony IMX858 sensor, with one for ultra-wide shots and two for telephoto shots.
The other three sensors include a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 50MP telephoto, and a fourth 50MP UW sensor. All sensors above have OIS, safe for the Ultrawide sensor.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, paired with 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The device also comes with a 5000mAh battery that supports 90W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, as well as an advanced battery life-saving technology that helps maintain a charge for up to one hour at 1% battery level.
The display of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is another notable feature, featuring a 2K AMOLED screen with an LTPO backplane and a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The display also has a peak brightness of 2600 nits and is calibrated by the CIE 2015 standard based on the human eye’s bionic vision. Xiaomi has also incorporated multi-screen same-color technology, ensuring accurate colors across various platforms.
Overall, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra offers a range of advanced features and impressive camera capabilities, making it a noteworthy addition to Xiaomi’s smartphone lineup.
Performance-wise, the phone stands side-by-side with top-of-the-range smartphones out there, and given the price, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra can give a lot of other premium phones a run for their money.
