After the launch of the Redmi 7A in July this year, Xiaomi said to launch the bigger brother to the Redmi 7A which is the Redmi 8A on September 25th in India.
The launch date was made known by Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP on twitter today, according to him, he said
“Mi fans, India’s best-selling smartphones, the Redmi A series, is coming to create waves yet again. This time around, we’ve made it all the more dumdaar. Get ready for #Dumdaar #Redmi8A on 25th September. Guess its dumdaar features! #Xiaomi #DumdaarRedmi8A.”
On the post he made on twitter, he also attached an image of the Redmi 8A to it, we were able to obtain some information about the Smartphone by mere looking at the image, it comes with a notch display which makes it the first device from Redmi A series to spot a waterdrop notch display.
The device has already passed on TENAA last week which revealed the full specifications of the Smartphone, it will come with a 6.2 inch HD+ waterdrop notch display with a resolution of 1520 by 720 pixels.
It weighs around 188 grams and has a dimensions of 156.3×75.4×9.4 mm, the device will come with 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, audio jack and FM Radio for connectivity. It will be available in grey, purple, green, pink, blue, red, white and black colours.
It will be powered by an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, it is paired with a 2gb/3gb/4gb RAM and 16gb/32gb/64gb ROM and it can be expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The Redmi 8A will be loaded with a single 12-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies. The device will run on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top and is expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery.
