Sharp has officially unveiled the Aquos Sense7 and Aquos Sense7 Plus smartphones in Japan. Both phones are the company’s latest offers in the Aquos Sense series, and both are direct successors to the Aquos Sense6-series.

Both these phones has almost everything in common, except for their display segments. To begin with, both the Aquos Sense7 and the Sharp Aquos Sense7 Plus run on Google Android 12 OS, has Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and both offers two SIM card slots.

Also, both models are based on the Snapdragon 695 SoC from Qualcomm, backed with Adreno 619 GPU. You are also getting the same RAM and storage option on both sides, which is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

The camera departments are also identical. There’s an 8MP selfie camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture and a 78-degree FoV. On the back, there’s a 50MP main shooter with an f/1.9 aperture and an 85-degree FoV, along with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with F/2.4 aperture and a 120-degree FoV.

Where the difference between this two smartphones lies is in their display. The Aquos Sense7 is fitted with a compact 6.1-inch screen with 120Hz, IGZO OLED display and FHD+ screen resolution. The Sharp Aquos Sense7 Plus on the other hand has a larger 6.4-inch IGZO OLED screen with FHD+ resolution.

Both phones offers different battery configurations; a 4570mAh juice on the standard model, and a 5050mAh battery on the Plus variant. As for painting, vanilla model is available in Light Copper, Blue, and Black colors, while the Plus variant comes in Deep Copper, Silver, and Black colors.

Both handsets have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and the IGZO screen on both phones supports up to 1300 nits of peak brightness. The vanilla Sense7 is available and sold via Docomo, au and UG Mobile in Japan, while the Sense7 Plus is sold via SoftBank.
