The 200-megapixel camera trend actually began with Motorola. The Moto X30 Pro was the world first smartphone to rock a whooping 200MP camera sensor. The record for the second slot is now being contend for, by Xiaomi and Infinix. But the winner might be Xiaomi as the company have just ticked a day earlier than Infinix.
Recall that the news broke few hours ago that Infinix will be announcing it Zero Ultra smartphone with 200-megapixel main camera sensor on the 5th of October. Well, Xiaomi’s 12T-series are expected to come with 200-megapixels too, and the series will be unveiled on the 4th of October, which is just a day before Infinix’s own announcement.
The Xiaomi 12T-series are to come either in a standard or Pro model, and their specifications will differ greatly. Important thing to note though, is that only the Xiaomi 12T Pro will use 200-megapixel camera, the standard 12T will come with 108-megapixels.
Also, different CPUs will be used on these two models. The vanilla 12T will come with the Dimensity 8100 5nm CPU from MediaTek, while the 12T Pro will rock the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC from Qualcomm.
The 12T will have just 8GB RAM with either 128/256GB ROM, while the 12T Pro gets 12GB RAM and a singular 256GB ROM. Both phones will have 5G support, and both will run Google Android 12 with MIUI 13 out of the box.
Other shared specifications between the models includes a 6.67-inches AMOLED screen with 1.5K display resolution, 120Hz refresh and up to 480Hz touch sampling rate. Both phones will also get a 20-megapixel selfie lens on the front, and both will have a built-in 5000mAh battery with up to 120W fast charging.
