iQOO is reportedly preparing to make a major stride in software support with its upcoming iQOO 15 flagship smartphone. A recent leak suggests that the device will come with the longest update commitment ever seen on an iQOO phone, covering both system and security updates. Here’s what we know so far.
iQOO 15 Could Be the First to Offer 5 Years of OS Support
According to a report from SmartPrix, the upcoming iQOO 15 might be the company’s first smartphone to receive five years of operating system updates and seven years of security patches. This marks a big step forward in iQOO’s software policy. Earlier, the brand had extended its support timeline for the iQOO 12, which was originally promised three years of OS updates and four years of security patches.
For comparison, last year’s iQOO 13 came with four years of major OS updates and six years of security support. The new upgrade continues iQOO’s push toward long-term software reliability. The company recently confirmed that the iQOO 15 will make its debut in India on November 26.
By extending its software commitment, iQOO is catching up with other leading Chinese smartphone makers, most of whom provide four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. In related news, iQOO also revealed that the iQOO Neo 7 and Neo 7 Pro will be updated to OriginOS 6. You can check out the OriginOS 6 update roadmap for India to see if your device is included.
