Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro is still several months away from launch, but early leaks already suggest it could become one of the company’s more noteworthy releases in recent years.
According to a new report, the device may come with a 5000mAh battery. While that figure is not unusual on its own, it becomes more interesting when placed alongside other rumored specs. The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to feature a 6.47 inch display, though some recent leaks round it up to 6.5 inches. Either way, it would be clearly more compact than the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The Ultra model is also said to carry a slightly larger battery, reportedly in the 5200mAh to 5500mAh range. However, battery capacity alone does not fully determine endurance.
Because the Pro has a smaller screen, it would naturally require less power in everyday usage. Samsung could also tune it with a more restrained performance setup to help control heat within the smaller body. If that turns out to be the case, the difference in real world battery life between both models may be smaller than expected. In some situations, the S27 Pro could even match or potentially outperform the Ultra in efficiency.

The S27 Pro is also expected to run on the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset as the Galaxy S27 Ultra, meaning both phones should benefit from similar power efficiency improvements at the processor level.
Camera details are equally intriguing.
Leaks indicate that Samsung could equip the Pro with the same primary and ultrawide sensors planned for the Ultra, along with a 50MP 3.5x ALoP telephoto lens.

Meanwhile, the Ultra is rumored to drop its 3x 10MP telephoto sensor and instead rely on crop zoom from its 200MP main camera for up to 5x magnification. If this happens, the dedicated 3.5x telephoto on the S27 Pro might actually deliver more consistent results for everyday photography.
Samsung is expected to still position the Ultra as its top tier photography flagship. However, based on current leaks, the Pro model could end up being the more balanced and appealing option for most users.
