Xiaomi in an event yesterday, officially introduced the Redmi 8 series, as well as the Note 8 series in Nigeria. The four new Xiaomi Redmi devices announced includes the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the Standard Note 8, the Redmi 8 and of course, the Redmi 8A. Xiaomi has been targeting the African smartphone market, especially Nigeria since 2018. The company unveiled the Redmi 7 series in Nigeria earlier this year, almost same period that the series were introduced in other similar growing markets.
