Recently, we reported about Apple’s foldable device. According to claims from Kuo Ming-Chi, who is a well-known analyst, Apple is developing a foldable iPhone. In a recent report to investors, this analyst pointed out out this and also stated that up to 20 million units of the device will be ship.
According to the reports, Apple is striving to release its foldable iPhone in 2023. It was revealed that this anticipated device will launch with an 8-inch QHD+ resolution OLED flexible screen. And that the new foldable iPhone will use TPK’s nanosilver wire touch technology. If this is true, this will mean that the device’s method already has more advantages than Samsung’s Y-Octa technology.
Giant tech manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei have had foldable devices already on the market. However, reports from Kuo state that Apple will have an advantage in the growing foldable trend because of its “cross-product ecosystems and hardware design advantages.” He believes that Apple will be the “biggest winner” in the area of foldable smartphones.
Kuo Ming-Chi predicts that the foldable iPhone will be a combination of the regular iPhone and a tablet. The first foldable device with an Apple logo will open up to an iPad-sized 8-inch screen. Kuo seems to be pointing to more ambitious Apple devices launching in the future.
Jon Prosser, a popular Apple leakster, hinted that Apple will use the clamshell design instead of the famous “phone-to-tablet” design.
He stated,
“(Apple) is leaning on heavily in favor of a clamshell (iPhone design),…My sources are not exactly sure why, all they know is that the clamshell is now having the majority of the attention placed in on it behind the scenes… (and) this is getting elevated behind the scenes concerning production timeline…One of the goals of the clamshell-style foldable iPhone is that it has multiple color offers, like fun colors, similar to base model iPhones… which tells us who/what this smartphone will be marketed towards.”
