Design of OPPO A98 and key hardware specs revealed via TENAA

When it comes to the A’s series, OPPO is good at maxing out a particular series before moving to the next iterations. This has been the case with all A-series so far, including the current A97, A77 and other Ax7-series. Haven maxed out the A97-series, OPPO is ready to introduce the A98-series, and thanks to TENAA, we may have just gotten what the device will look like.

According to the TENAA report put forth via Weibo, the upcoming A98 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 CPU, and will come with 8-Gigs of RAM. The device will sport a 6.7-inches screen with 1080 x 2412 pixels, and it will have a waterdrop screen with up to 120Hz refresh.

As per the design, the rumored OPPO A98 will sport two rounded camera modules on the rear. The exact number of lenses to expect on the rear is not clear, but the primary snapper will be a 108-megapixels.

The phone is also said to have an under-screen fingerprint scanner, and it will get a 4690mAh battery power with 67W fast charging. The display panel is said to originate from Chinese BOE, and it is expect have a 16-megapixel selfie lens on the head.

It is now clear exactly when to expect this device as no official statement has been received already. But considering the TENAA listing, the launch date may be sooner than later. Other models of OPPO midrange smartphones like the Reno9-series are also expected, and based on the current rumors, the A98 may offer better specs than the base model in the Reno9-series.
