he HMD Pulse+ occupies the middle ground within the HMD Pulse smartphone lineup, offering a balance between affordability and features. It shares many core specifications with both the standard Pulse and the higher-end Pulse Pro, but with some key distinctions.
Display: All three Pulse models boast a large 6.65-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. The display offers a peak brightness of 600 nits and a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 265 ppi.
Performance: The HMD Pulse+ is powered by the Unisoc T606 chipset, the same processor found in both the Pulse and Pulse Pro. RAM options range from 4GB to 8GB, paired with 128GB of internal storage in all configurations. Storage can be further expanded via a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 256GB in capacity.
Cameras: The primary camera system on the Pulse+ takes a step up from the base Pulse model. It features a 50MP main sensor with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) for capturing sharper images. However, it retains the lower resolution QVGA depth sensor from the standard Pulse, unlike the 2MP sensor found on the pricier Pulse Pro.
The front-facing camera on the Pulse+ is an 8-megapixel sensor, which matches the resolution of the standard Pulse but falls short of the high-resolution 50MP selfie camera offered by the Pulse Pro. All cameras are capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
Battery & Charging: The Pulse+ is equipped with a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery, the same capacity as both the Pulse and Pulse Pro. However, unlike the Pulse Pro which boasts faster 20W charging, the Pulse+ is limited to slower 10W charging speeds.
Other Features: The HMD Pulse+ runs the latest Android 14 operating system and offers basic connectivity features like Bluetooth 5.0, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio.
Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The build consists of a plastic frame with a glass front and a plastic back, offering dust and splash resistance. The HMD Pulse+ comes in three color options: Apricot Crush, Midnight Blue, and Glacier Green.
