Tecno Phantom 9 Highlights and Overview
The Tecno Phantom 9 is the latest smartphone from Tecno Mobility launched in June, 2019. The device is the direct successor of Phantom 8 launched back in 2017, and comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner, triple rear camera setup, and a large 6.4-inch Full-HD+ display.
The specifications details includes the aforementioned 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. The device has a U-shaped notch cut-out, making the display a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and giving the device about 83.4% screen-to-body ratio.
Thanks to Samsung AMOLED screen, the display on the Phantom is sharp and crisp, and despite being 6.4-inch, the Phantom 9 is still much compact and smaller than the previous Phantom 8 with 5.7-inch display, thanks to it impressive 84% screen-to-body. The display also has a built-in on-screen fingerprint sensor, which places your security right in front of you; the first of it kind from Tecno Mobility.
Under the hood, the Tecno Phantom 9 runs on an Octa-core MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC clocked at 2.35 GHz. This is a power efficient CPU built on a 12nm architecture, and optimized for Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology. It is integrated with PowerVR GE8322 GPU, assisted with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.
On the camera department, Tecno made use of three (3) camera sensors at the back, just like on the Camon 11s or the Camon i4. Of the three sensors, there’s the 16-megapixel main sensor with quad-LED and PDAF, a 2-megapixel depth of field lens, and a large 8-megapixel wide angle lense. On the frontal, you are getting a single 32-megapixel selfie camera with a uniquely placed dual-LED flashs just on the bezels above the display.
The device has support for dual 4G enabled SIM, fuelled by a 3500mAh battery and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) based on the latest HiOS v5.0. Other key specifications and silent features of the Tecno Phantom 9 smartphone are detailed in the table below.

I wouldn’t agree to that. AS LONG AS Tecno is using a MediaTek processor, it can NEVER charge faster than a Samsung Phone’s Exynos or SnapDragon. MediaTek is a low budget processor if you ask me.

I disagree with you, am using A20 that’s 4000mah it’s serves me only a day but I have used 3500mah of Tecno product it last me more than Samsung. Even my colleagues that are using samsung complained so much about the battery. Stop criticising, for a classic phone that has higher ram and rom doesn’t need a big battery even Huawei Nova 3i has 3000+ battery it’s not up to 4000mah. Do u want the phone to explode like samsung phone that exploded the other time? Do a research about what battery capacity can be input in phones of 6GBRAM +64GB ROM. Thanks

Nice phone, but I would prefer to wait and buy the phantom 9 pro only if Techno would make the battery 5000mAh and reduce the size of the pro to 5. inches because isn’t everybody that like bulky phones

To every production, there is a specific consumption. In dis industry there is no all in 1, is either u get dis or dat even both…cool. Phantom 9 is made for customers who live in an area of 24/7 power supply, and if ur case is different-light i mean-go for product with higher Mah. Kudos Tecno u guys are doing a gr8 job…keep it up.
Battery is a big issue
I have been waiting for this. I use a phantom 8 and would be willing to sell to anyone interested as long as I can get a hold of phantom 9. The price too is unstated.
The phone is quite good, the battery and the processor are its main problems. The in display fingerprint is a big step up. But even with the AI function capability, larger ram, and bigger storage space, it will not compensate for the phone’s inability to last long without constantly recharging it or putting it on charge usage most of the time.However it is still a very good phone for pictures and music, just not so for heavy apps nor is it big game friendly.

the 4G LTE speed is at 1Gigabit per second, this speed surpass many other brand high end phones, meanwhile is the battery size LOW, it could at least be 4000mAh
Tecno Phantom is doing a great job but i think the way technology is moving with a fast speed,tecno has to beef up their game.
The Phantom 9 is ok but the battery need to be stronger than it is now in order to meet the demand of customers.

The phone is good for the price, you can’t expect everything inside one budget phone. Kudos to tecno because I’m really impressed with this. What I will just advise tecno is that they should work on their software upgrade, please make your phone upgradable for at least two(2) years android update.
With good software optimization I think 3500mah is ok and can last you for a day usage. I really like Amoled from tecno it’s a good step up.

Guys don’t be surprised that this 3500mAh battery capacity of tecno can last you for two days. They really tried in this phantom 9. Am still contemplating on which one to buy between the phantom 9 and the latest camon 12pro that was just launched last month. Both are almost the same.
All the people who complain about the phantom 9 ‘s battery capacity, saying that it’s too low: have you ever have a phone company that produce actual phones? Did I ever use at least one of the phone you have produced? If not, then shut your mouth cuz tecno company is doing it’s best to produce high phone qualities at lower prices. Follow the instructions concerning the battery when you first get the phone is very useful. Plus, who knows exactly how phones and battery work. Inform yourself about all those thing before opening you mouth. Bravo tecno. You do a great job. I’m excited to see your next stop.
