Chinese smartphone manufacturer HONOR has unveiled its latest 5G smartphone, the HONOR Magic5, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 event in Barcelona, just as it has promised. The new device comes equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm.
The HONOR Magic5 features a large 6.73-inch display with a resolution of 2688 x 1224 pixels. It boasts an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SM8550-AB CPU, comes with either 8GB/12GB/16GB of RAM, and 256GB/512GB of storage capacity.
The device comes with a triple-camera system on the rear. The setup includes a 54-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera. The camera system is capable of both 4K and 1080p video shooting at 30/60fps.
Although optical image stabilization is missing on both the 54 and 50-megapixel lenses, but it is readily available on the telephoto lens, which is capped at 32-megapixels. The model comes with a 5100mAh battery, and it support 66W fast charging.
The device runs on Android 13 with MagicOS 7.1 out of the box. It is also waterproof and dustproof, thanks to it IP68 rating. You are also getting stereo speakers and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. However, there is no earphone terminal, and the connection terminal is USB Type-C.
The HONOR Magic5 is available in Meadow Green, Black, Glacier Blue, Coral Purple, and Orange. European pricing for the model starts at €899 for 8GB/256GB of RAM. HONOR also releases the Magic5 Pro and Magic Vs, both of which comes with higher price tag.
