Well, Huawei is still fully in business with USA companies, and even though the company is deeply working on it own in-house smartphone operating system, source has confirmed that the company will be unveiling EMUI v10 on the 9th of August 2019. What’s most interesting in this update, is the fact that the Huawei EMUI v10 will be based on Android Q.
The company has been testing EMUI 10 for a while now, and according to source, the new OS will be announced alongside HongMeng OS for the Chinese market, which is said to launch as ‘Oak OS‘ for the global markets before the end of quarter 4.
The new EMUI v10 is expected to come with updates to several system-level features, including Ark compiler and improvements to new EROSF file system that was introduced with EMIUI 9.1. Also, the new update will bring redesigned icons, new changes to drop-down notification bar, improved navigation gestures, new camera features including new filters, faster camera switching mode.
Key Android Q features such as global dark mode (for more devices), improved permission settings for camera, location and other privacy settings will also be present in the EMUI v10. As interesting as this seems, I am much more interested in Huawei HongMeng OS, especially to see how it compete with Android in real life performance.
