Introducing the Nokia G22: first smartphone with reparability as its Core feature

Nokia has released its new smartphone, the Nokia G22, which is the first smartphone from the company with reparability as its core feature. The Nokia G22 has been designed with a QuickFix design that makes it easy for users to access repair guides and affordable parts to replace damaged components such as a damaged display, bent charging port, or flat battery. The collaboration with iFixit has helped make this possible.

In addition to its reparability, the Nokia G22 comes with several impressive features, such as a 100% recycled plastic back, OZO Playback that delivers enhanced bass and clearer sound, and Android 12. Nokia has promised 2 years of Android OS upgrades, three years of monthly security updates, and extended three-year warranty at no extra cost.

Compared to its predecessor, the Nokia G21, there isn’t much difference with the Nokia G22, apart from the 20W fast charging feature. Nokia has stated that the phone maintains over 80% of the original battery capacity even after 800 full charging cycles.

The Nokia G22 specifications include a 6.52-inch (1600 x 720 pixels) HD+ 20:9 V-notch display with 90Hz refresh rate, 500 nits typical brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a 1.6GHz Octa Core Unisoc T606 (6x Cortex-A55 and 2x Cortex-A75 cores) 12nm processor with Mali G57 MP1 GPU.

It also features 4GB LPDDR4x RAM (2GB virtual RAM), 64GB / 128GB storage, expandable memory up to 2TB with microSD, dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD), and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia G22 comes with a 50MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 2MP depth, 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, LED flash, and an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone is also dust and splash resistant (IP52) and features a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, and OZO audio.

It has dimensions of 165 x76.19x 8.48mm and weighs 195.23g. The phone also has dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, USB Type-C, NFC (In select markets), and a 5050mAh battery with support for 20W charging (PD3.0).
