itel S24 Launches in Nigeria Tomorrow: Here are the Exciting Features to Expect

itel S24, the successor to the popular S23 series, is set to launch in Nigeria tomorrow, the 10th of April. This budget-friendly phone boasts significant improvements in processing power and camera capabilities. In this article, we shall look at some of the key exciting features to look out for.

The S24 is the direct successor to the vanilla S23, but not the S23 Plus. Even though the S24 has major upgrades over the S23, it still lacks features to make it a worthy upgrade over the S23 Plus.

But whether itel is working on a Plus model for the S24 remains a question we would prefer to answer sometime in the future. As for the standard S24, here are some of the exciting features you should look forward to:

The latest MediaTek Helio G91 Chipset

The itel S24 holds the distinction of being the world’s first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Helio G91 chipset. This next-generation processor offers a noticeable performance upgrade compared to the Tiger T606 found in the S23.

Users can expect smoother multitasking and the ability to handle even demanding games with ease. The Helio G91 features two Cortex-A75 CPUs clocked at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPUs at 1.8GHz. It is a similar CPU to the Helio G88 and the G85, however, the G91 has a better ISP.

Camera is now pushed to 108MP megapixel

The S24 marks a major leap for itel in the camera department. It’s the first phone from the brand to sport a large 108-megapixel main sensor, a significant upgrade from the previous generation’s 50-megapixel limit.

This allows users to capture stunning photos with better detail and clarity. Accompanying the main sensor will be a QVGA depth sensor for enhanced portrait mode shots, while an 8-megapixel selfie camera sits within the punch-hole display.

Good Display with Smooth Refresh Rate, but still 720p

The S24 features a 6.6-inch display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate for a more responsive user experience. This is a welcome upgrade over the standard 60Hz refresh rate found on the S23. However, the display resolution remains at 720 x 1600 pixels and utilizes an LCD panel instead of the AMOLED panel found on the S23 Plus.

A conventional 5000mAh battery with 18W charger

The S24 packs a decent 5000mAh battery, which should provide ample power for daily use. It comes with an 18W wired USB Type-C charger for faster charging. The phone runs Android 13 with itel’s own OS 13 on top and will be available in three colors: Dawn White, Coastline Blue, and Starry Black.

Pricing and Availability to be Revealed

The official launch is set for tomorrow, with pricing for the itel S24 in Nigeria to be announced. With its impressive features, the itel S24 has the potential to be a compelling option in the Nigerian smartphone market, especially if the price remains budget-friendly.

Keep in mind that phones like the Redmi 13C, Samsung Galaxy A05, etc are currently sold in Nigeria, and we would love to see how itel hopes to compete with these established models.
