OPPO has launched its latest mid-range smartphone in the A-series, called the A98 5G, in Malaysia. The device is packed with desirable features like a large FHD+ display, a 64MP primary camera, and 256GB storage.
One of the key highlights of the OPPO A98 5G is its large 6.72-inch IPS LCD display, which comes with a Full HD+ resolution and has support for up to 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, along with support for 8GB virtual RAM technology. It runs on the latest Android 13-based ColorOS 13 operating system.
In terms of the camera setup, the A98 5G features a triple-camera setup on the back, which consists of a 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP microlens with up to 40x zoom. For selfies, the device has a 32MP front-facing camera.
Another standout feature of the A98 5G is its 5000mAh battery, which comes with support for 67W fast charging. According to OPPO, a 5-minute charge can provide up to six hours of calling time.
The A98 5G has a sleek design that is about 8.2mm thick and weighs approximately 192 grams. It features OPPO’s signature Glow design language with anti-fingerprint and scratch-resistant materials and coating.
The official price of the OPPO A98 5G has not been disclosed by the company yet, but it has been listed on various e-commerce websites for RM1399, an equivalent of $315 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.
Pre-orders for the smartphone have begun and can be placed through both online and offline stores. Although the official color options have not been announced by OPPO, leaked promotional material indicates that the device will be available in Dreamy Blue and Cool Black.
