The new smartphone from OnePlus, the Ace 2, has been announced in China. The device is designed for the Chinese market, but it is available as the global as OnePlus 11R, offering the same spec sheet and CPU power.
The Ace 2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which places the device in the “almost flagship” category. It also comes with a lot of memory, with options for 12 or 16 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB of permanent storage. However, there is no support for memory cards.
The screen of the Ace 2 is an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.74 inches and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The resolution has been increased to 1240×2772, but the battery has only slightly increased compared to the Ace Pro, from 4800 to 5000mAh. The charging speed has decreased from 150 to 100W.
The cameras on the Ace 2 include a 16-megapixel front camera and a 50+8+2 MP rear camera with optical stabilization. The main camera sensor is the Sony IMX890, which is the same sensor used in the flagship OnePlus 11. However, Hasselblad is not incorporated here.
Other features of the Ace 2 include an NFC module, a sixth Wi-Fi, and an IR blaster. However, there is no standard audio output. The LTE bands on the device do not include Band 7 or Band 20.
Prices for the Ace 2 start at 2,799 CNY for the 12+256 GB version, with options for 16+256 GB for 3,099 CNY and 16+512 GB for 3,499 CNY. The device is already available for purchase on the OnePlus store on AliExpress, with prices starting at $599 for the 12+256GB version.
