After so much expectations and rumors, OnePlus officially announced her first smartwatch in India yesterday, and if you ask me to describe this device, I’d say it a great smartwatch loaded with lots of features, if not for the price. To begin with, the new OnePlus Watch comes in a 1.39-inches display which is large enough to view and respond to notifications. But not just that, the wrist gadget has the ability to make and answer phone calls, and play music without touching your phone.

It comes with it own dedicated 4GB of internal storage, and it is compatible with most Bluetooth earbuds for wireless music playback on the go. This means the smartwatch is completely usable without being paired to a smartphone. It can also connects with OnePlus TV to function as a remote controller, which can control your TV volume, and can even turn it off when the Watch notice you are already sleeping.

The Built Quality of OnePlus SmartWatch

As far as built quality is concerned, the Watch comes in a 46mm stainless steel case with 2.5D curved glass on the face. The screen is AMOLED with Sapphire Glass on the top for protection. The watch is available in two versions:

  1. The Classic Edition (which is the standard model) and
  2. Cobalt Limited Edition, which is built with Cobalt Alloy and unique hypoallergenic material that is twice as hard and more corrosion-resistant than traditional stainless steel.

Both of these models are water resistant, and can swim up to 50 meters, thanks to it 5ATM / IP68 rating.

OnePlus Watch Features and usability

As far as features are concern, the Watch has over 110+ workout modes, and can automatically detect some workout modes like running or jogging without even touching the watch. Additionally, it shows metrics such as pulse, distance, calories, speed monitoring among others. Moreover, the device has Accelerator sensor, Gyroscope sensor, Geomagnetic sensor, Optical heart rate / blood oxygen sensor, Ambient light sensor etc.

It comes in 46.4×46.4mm×10.9mm body and weighs around 45 grams without strap. It has Bluetooth 5.0, powered by 402mAh battery and compactible with devices running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or newer.

Pricing and availability

OnePlus Watch Classic Edition comes in Midnight Black and Moonlight Silver colors. As far as pricing goes, the model will be unexcitedly available in India sometime in April at a discounted price of Rs. 14,999, which is Rs. 2000 less than it original price of Rs. 16,999. There is no word on the availability of the Cobalt Limited Edition yet.
