OPPO A1X 5G with Dimensity 700 CPU quietly unveiled in China

OPPO have quietly unveiled its new A1x 5G smartphone in China. Upon inspection of its specifications, it appears to be an exact replica of the previously announced OPPO A58x 5G smartphone from a quarter ago, with only slight design differences, such as a new camera island design and two color options instead of three.

Under the hood, the A1x 5G boasts a popular MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, which is expected to score between 300-350 thousand points on AnTuTu benchmark tests. The device features a decent amount of memory with options for 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of permanent storage with support for memory cards.

However, the screen may disappoint some users with its 6.56-inch (103 cm²) diagonal and low resolution of only 720×1612 (269 ppi). The device does offer a slightly increased refresh rate of 90 Hz.

The A1x 5G’s camera set is relatively simple, with an 8 MP front camera and 13 + 2 MP cameras on the rear. However, the device’s battery is a standard 5000 mAh, although it doesn’t come with fast charging support.

Additional features include Type-C, dual-band Wi-Fi, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a standard audio output. However, the device lacks an NFC module and gyroscope and does not support the necessary LTE bands.

The OPPO A1x 5G comes in Blue and Black colors, and it is priced at ¥1399 ($203) and ¥1599 ($232) for the 6+128 and 8+128GB versions, respectively. This device may arrive on the international sphere under a new moniker.
