Oppo has been reported to be working on their own chipset. ColorOS is used by Oppo and Realme, infact the chip was developed by Realme and Oppo but now, Oppo wants their own personal Android custom skin.

As was reported by LetsGoDigital, Oppo has already filed a patent to European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on November 20. The chip is said to be called Oppo M1.

It has also been reported that OPPO has poached several engineers from Unisoc (Spreadtrum) and MediaTek. There are no details about the chip yet but speculations had it that the Oppo M1 will be unveiled next year, probably on MWC 2020 or at next year’s edition of Semicon China scheduled to hold in March.

Oppo is a pioneer when it comes to designs and technologies, this is a great move from them, OPPO’s entry into the chip business will definitely bring big changes to its products.
