OPPO Reno5 F 1

OPPO is currently pushing new Android updates to owners of Reno5 F. As the post, we can clearly confirm if this update is rolling across other Reno5-series. But we do have the confirmation that the update is currently sending to the F-variant of the series, and it bundles along May 2021 Android security patch.

As per the screen shoots below, the update brings improvements to three major areas of the Reno5 F:

  1. Security: Added the May 2021 Android security patches to enhance system security.
  2. System: Added new feature called Oswap to extend system space for improved performance.
  3. Games: Fixes an issue where the screen would go fuzzy when playing call of duty

The update itself weighs 375MB, and it based on Color OS 11.1 with Google Android 11. You should receive a notification in your drawer informing you of this update. But if not, just head to Setting >> Software Update and download and apply the update.

For me, the Reno5 F have proven itself as a reliable smartphone since I got it few months ago. It is currently one of our content creation tool over hear on DroidAfrica. Aside the finger magnet and the screen diming issue which was partially fixed with the first post-factory update in April, I’ve not had any other issues with the phone. Although the screen still dim uncontrollable when recording video especially in 4K. Hopefully, an update should fix this in the future.
