Oppo announced yesterday that they are working on a 5G smartphone that will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset. The smartphone will actually be the Oppo Reno3 Pro. Now, a new leak has said that Oppo is not only working on a single 5G smartphone. The leak says that there are two 5G smartphones that Oppo is working on but the only difference is that one will be powered by a MediaTek’s MT6885 processor and the other will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset, and that’s the one Oppo announced yesterday that they are working on.
The leak was posted by @Digital Chat Station on Weibo. That same yesterday, he posted that Oppo will unveil two 5G smartphones but with a different chipset, he even made this post already before the company officially announced it. He promised to post some of the key specifications of the device today and he kept to his promise but he warned that this key specifications will be taken with a grain of salt as the official specifications might be different. The alleged smartphone will come with a 6.4inch OLED waterdrop notch display with a Full HD+ resolution.
That is a 1080 x 2400 pixels. It will be powered by a MediaTek’s MT6885 dual-mode 5G processor. You know MediaTek is yet to announce the official name of this chipset and also it’s full details but we believe that the phone will launch under the new Dimensity family. @Digital Chat Station also said that the unamed Oppo phone will arrive with a quad camera setup at the rear. 64MP will be the main shooter and we don’t know about the other three lens. We also don’t know if Oppo will utilize Samsung’s 64MP sensor or the new Sony’s IMX686 sensor.
The smartphone will have an in_display fingerprint scanner and will support 30W VOOC fast charging. The size of the battery is unknown. Hopefully, more details about this phone will surface soon.
