Mobicel VX20 LTE and the R9 Pro are already on sale in South Africa. This two smartphones may have arrived at the close of 2022, and given the specs and design, the duo is the company’s most premium smartphone to the South African market yet.
The sad news is, Mobicel is not used to revealing the full specifications of their smartphones on their website, even after the device(s) have gone official, and that is what has playout with the VX20 LTE and the R9 Pro model.
Although the company did reveal a little, and according to them, both the Mobicel VX20 and the R9 Pro are given the same 6.52-inches screen with 720 x 1600 pixels. Both have a dewdrop notch on the head, and while the former has a 5-megapixel selfie sensor held within the overhead notch, the latter is given an 8-megapixel selfie lens.
This difference continues to the rear. For the VX20, it is a set of three camera lenses, of which the primary shooter is capped at 48 megapixels. The R9 Pro did not get the luxury of three rear sensors, rather it is given two lenses, but the primary snapper is pushed to 50-megapixel, probably the same Samsung JN1 sensor that has dominated the entry-level smartphone market.
The company said that the two phones are given both a Fingerprint scanner and the usual Ai FaceID. But since we can only see a rear-mounted sensor on the Mobicel R9 Pro, we simply assumed that the VX20 is given a got a power button fingerprint integration.
