Samsung always aims for the best camera experience for its users. There has been inter collaboration between manufacturers of smartphones to optimize camera specifications on their flagship devices. Manufacturers like Nokia and Huawei have had collaborations like this in the past, and even till now.
To improve their camera experience, it has been alleged that South Korean giant Samsung will partner with a Japan-based Olympus. Recently, Samsung teased developing a 200-megapixel image sensor. This is supposed to be a successor of the 108-megapixel sensor found in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The renders are made by graphic designer Technizo Concept for LetsGoDigital. It shows that Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a 200MP Olympus-branded camera.
A camera with this resolution sounds absurd. However, it has been alleged that Samsung is working on 200MP cameras. In fact, it’s possibly already production-ready. This is based on rumors of the ZTE Axon 30 Pro using a Samsung-made camera with this resolution.

The renders show a larger 200-megapixel primary camera sensor on a rectangular module placed at the top-left side. The size of lenses hints at better light capture and improved photo quality. Below the camera is a few other sensors sitting below the primary sensor.
This 200-megapixel camera will be a natural upgrade from the 108-megapixel sensor found in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
There have been speculations on whether Samsung and Olympus are doing a partnership. Both of these manufacturers are yet to confirm anything. However, the rumors leave open the possibility that a special edition of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be the first to get an Olympus-enhanced camera rig. These are all speculations. There are rumors that the company could announce this at the upcoming ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event scheduled on 28th April.
