Tecno’s new CG7 and CG6j passes through FCC, could be Camon 17-series

Two new Tecno devices have registered their existence on FCCid.io; the first being the Tecno CG6J and then, Tecno’s CG7. Both of these devices sport similar rear design, and might be announced in the upcoming Camon 17-series.

Although Tecno have been really quiet since the beginning of 2021, but we do know the company currently have gadgets ranging from smartphones, tablets, and even a full fledged smartwatch in the works.

We also talked about the Phantom X and X pro in a previous article, which could launch in or before Q2 of 2021. But as for the Camon 17-series, or should I say Tecno CG7 and CG6j, nothing much is known about these two yet. But their listing does revealed that both phones will have a vertically placed rear camera module that could have up to four sensors.

Looking at the images above, there is a notable difference between the two devices. Apparently, the CG6j will come with a rear mounted fingerprint scanner, while the CG7 will come with a side mounted fingerprint scanner. If we are to give a wild guess, the CG6j should be the vanilla Camon 17, while the CG7 should be the Pro or Premier model.

But as earlier stated, none of these has been confirmed from Tecno yet. The company have not even stated either it will be launching a Camon 17-series or not, so consider the information here with a grain of salt.

Recall that the Camon 12, Camon 15 and the Camon 16 series were announced in an average of 6-7 months intervals. The last Camon device was the Camon 16 which was announced back in September of 2020. This means the next Tecno camon device could right in the corner, so stay tuned.
