Sharp has just announced two new smartphones, the Aquos R8 and Aquos R8 Pro. These devices will be available for purchase in July 2023. Both smartphones are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm) chipsets and both runs on Android 13 OS out of the box.
The Aquos R8 features a 6.4-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.
It has dual rear cameras, including a 50.3MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. The device has a non-removable Li-Po 4570mAh battery and supports a sided fingerprint scanner.
On the other hand, the Aquos R8 Pro comes with a larger 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels and a Dynamic refresh rate touching 240Hz.
It has a 47.2MP main camera, a 1.9MP depth camera, and a 12.6MP selfie camera. The device has a larger 12GB RAM and a 256GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.
Both smartphones come with dual SIM support and are IPX5 / IPX7 / IP6X certified for water and dust resistance. They also have stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC. But while the standard Aquos R8 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensors, the R8 Pro is given an 3D ultrasonic under display fingerprint sensor.
