The long awaited and highly anticipated Honor V30 series has finally been launched in China today. It’s main upgrade from it’s predecessor is on chipset and Network, though there are still some minor upgrades. The smartphone now comes with a powerful Hisilicon Kirin 990 chipset which is a tad ahead of Kirin 980 chipset found on the vanilla Honor V20 and also a fast 5G network which supports both SA (stand-alone mode) and NSA (non-stand alone mode).

As far as specifications goes, the Honor V30 and his elder brother, the V30 Pro, comes with a 6.57inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 2340 by 1080 pixels and it’s an IPS LCD panel with 91.46 percent screen-to-body ratio. Both this two smartphones are powered by a Hisilicon Kirin 990 SoC with support for 5G. The only difference in SoC aspect between both of them is that the V30 Pro now comes with liquid cooling technology.

This comes in handy when you are doing heavy multitasking on the smartphone or playing games. V30 comes in two variants which are 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM while the V30 Pro also comes in two variants which are 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM.

Both the V30 and V30 Pro runs on EMUI on top of Android 10. With 5G connection, the smartphone can download 1.6GB file in under 27 seconds. For security purposes, the smartphone utilizes a side mounted fingerprint scanner unlike the rear mounted fingerprint scanner found on almost all mid-range phones this days.

There is a triple rear cameras on the V30 which consists of 40MP primary Sony IMX600 sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP wide-angle lens with OIS. On the other hand, the Honor V30 Pro also comes with a triple rear cameras which consists of 40MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens and a 12MP wide-angle lens with dual-OIS.

The rear cameras on both phones is capable of shooting 4K HDR video recording, 5-axis electronic image stabilization and ultra- low vision. Both smartphones has a dual selfies cameras which are 32MP main shooter and an 8MP telephoto lens. They have 4,200mAh battery capacity which supports 40W fast-charging, 27W wireless fast charging, and 7.5W wireless reverse charging.

The Honor V30 is priced at RMB 3,299 (around Rs 33,500) for the 6GB + 128GB, while the 8GB + 128GB model costs RMB 3,699 (around Rs 37,600). On the other hand, the Honor V30 Pro 8GB + 128GB model sets you back by RMB 3,899 (around Rs 39,600) and the 8GB + 256GB costs RMB 4,199 (around Rs 43,700).

Both the phones come in Icelandic Fantasy, Magic Night Star River, Charm Star Blue, and Twilight Orange colour options. Pre-booking for the Honor V30 series in China closes on November 26.
