Technically, the POVA-series are Tecno’s power series. Unfortunately, the series have not gotten the power it deserved until recently when the company push out the POVA 5G, which was first introduced in Nigeria, on the 3rd of January. Tecno is now all set to announced the same smartphone in India, and the 8th of February is the chosen launch date, which is just 3-days from today.
We know all the specs and features of the POVA 5G, since it has been in Nigeria above a month. As obvious as it is, the device is Tecno’s first 5G phone, thanks to the presence of MediaTek’s Dimensity 900, which is a 6nm 5G CPU.
The model introduced in Nigeria has 8GB RAM and 128 Gigabyte expandable ROM. The camera enthusiast got a 50MP + 2MP depth and an AI lens on the rear, while a single 16-megapixel is used on the front.
All POVA series till date, are known for their solid battery power. The last POVA device before this 5G model (POVA 2 to be specific), has a whopping 7000mAh battery. Although these new 5G model is a 1000mAh short of that, but their battery endurance should not be world apart.
All of the above specs are housed in a 6.9-inches screen that has a Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rating, plus Tecno’s HiOS interface on top of Android 11 out of the box.
Digging up past records shows that Tecno Mobile is fun of treating Indian market specially, and while it seem unlikely in these case, we won’t still be surprise to see a POVA 5G with different specification when it debut in India 3-days from now.
