Google Pixels can now run the stable version of Android 16, and non-Google manufacturers like Oppo will soon be able to use it as well. The Chinese company is now getting ready for the official release of Android 16, having previously made a few betas available for a few devices.
A layer of ColorOS 16 skin will be included on top of the regular Android 16 upgrade for Oppo handsets, providing an extra set of enhancements and new capabilities. Check the list below to see whether your Oppo smartphone qualifies for the ColorOS 16 update, which is based on Android 16.

When the deployment starts, your Oppo handset is probably going to get an Android 16 upgrade if it’s on the list. For the last confirmation, I would still advise consulting the official list (when it will be made public). Before thinking about upgrading to a newer model, those who are not on the list should also wait for the official list.
When is Oppo going to begin releasing the Android 16 update?
When Oppo will begin updating its handsets with the ColorOS 16 upgrade, which is based on Android 16, has not been disclosed. We are aware, nonetheless, that it often takes a few weeks following Google’s publication of the most recent Android OS version. Given the introduction of Android 16 last week, the ColorOS 16 deployment is anticipated to begin in early July 2025. If serious problems are discovered, we cannot rule out a delay.
Recent high-end phones like the Find X8 series, Find N5, and Find N3 series will be the first to be rolled out, whenever it starts. After that, the upgrade will progressively spread to mid-range and less expensive devices. The ColorOS 16 rollout plan, which Oppo will shortly provide, will indicate when your Oppo smartphone will be able to receive the upgrade.
