Samsung has introduced its latest contender in the premium foldable phone space with the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It enters the market to compete with Motorola’s high-end Razr Ultra 2025 (Geekwills), which also brings impressive features to the table. So, which one gives more value for your money? Here’s a side-by-side comparison.
1. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Moto Razr Ultra 2025: Design & Display

Samsung continues to refine its foldables and has improved the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with upgrades to the cover display and hinge design. The new 4.1-inch FlexWindow marks a significant step up from its predecessor, making it comparable to Motorola’s recent Razr lineup. The main display is now taller as well, bringing both phones nearly on par when it comes to viewing experience.
Motorola still takes a slight lead here with its faster 165Hz refresh rate on both screens and a variable 1 to 165Hz refresh rate on the external panel, thanks to LTPO technology. Meanwhile, Samsung’s outer display supports either 60Hz or 120Hz. When it comes to looks, the design differences are subtle. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 is thinner and lighter, measuring 6.9mm when unfolded and 14.9mm when folded, weighing 188 grams. The Razr Ultra 2025 is a bit bulkier at 7.29mm unfolded and 15.69mm folded, and it weighs 189 grams.
Samsung’s slim profile might offer better handling, but Motorola counters with a vegan leather finish that could feel more premium compared to Samsung’s glass body. Ultimately, your design choice will depend on personal taste.
2. Performance

To avoid increasing the price, Samsung equipped the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with its new in-house Exynos 2500 chipset built on a 3nm process, aiming for better performance and efficiency. However, Motorola’s Razr Ultra 2025 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which currently ranks among the top performers.
While Samsung’s Exynos chip offers decent improvements and handles thermal performance better, the Snapdragon 8 Elite still edges out in terms of gaming and intensive use. That said, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 still performs well for day-to-day usage.
3. Battery & Charging

Samsung increased the battery capacity in the Z Flip 7 to 4,300mAh from 4,000mAh, but charging speeds remain the same at 25W wired and 15W wireless. In contrast, Motorola offers a larger 4,700mAh battery along with faster 68W wired and 30W wireless charging, giving it a clear advantage in battery performance.
4. Camera

Both phones feature dual rear cameras, but Motorola has the upper hand with a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens, plus a 50MP front camera. Samsung’s Z Flip 7 includes a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP selfie shooter. While both main sensors are similar, Motorola’s higher resolution ultrawide and front cameras, with better apertures, suggest potentially superior image quality.
5. Pricing and Verdict
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 at 1,099 US Dollars for the 256GB model and 1,219 US Dollars for the 512GB variant. This makes it a bit more budget-friendly than the Moto Razr Ultra 2025, which starts at 1,299 US Dollars for 512GB. Motorola is also running a limited-time offer on the 1TB model at 1,299 US Dollars (down from 1,499 US Dollars), and even includes a smartwatch as a bonus.
In summary, the Razr Ultra 2025 is slightly more expensive but offers better cameras, battery life, charging speeds, and raw performance. However, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 holds its own in most areas and adds benefits like Samsung’s One UI software, broader ecosystem integration, and the debut of DeX in the Z series. Unless you need maximum performance and battery life, the Z Flip 7 is a strong and stylish foldable option to consider.
