After a bit of a delay, Asus has officially rolled out access to the Android 16 beta. The program began earlier this month with the ZenFone 12 Ultra and has since been extended to include a few more models.
We’ve put together a list of Asus devices currently eligible for the Android 16 beta so you can check if yours qualifies for early access before the wider release.
Android 16 beta available on these Asus models
Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra
Asus ROG Phone 9
Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro
At this stage, these are the only devices confirmed to support the beta. It’s not yet known if Asus will open the program to additional phones, but we’ll keep this list updated if more devices are added later.
If your phone is among the supported models, you can register and try out Android 16 ahead of the stable release.

How to install Android 16 beta on your Asus device
Keep in mind that beta versions are not final and may include bugs, incomplete features, and performance issues. Because of this, it’s best to avoid installing beta software on your main device.
Before you begin, make sure to back up important files either to cloud storage or to another device. Additionally, keep in mind that you won’t be able to go back to Android 15 after you switch to the Android 16 beta. The beta program will automatically end once the stable version becomes available.
To join the program:
- Open the Settings app on your Asus phone.
- Go to System and tap System update.
- Select the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- Tap Enroll in Android preview program.
- Agree to the terms and complete your application.
- Tap Submit.
If you’re selected, Asus will confirm by email and send the beta update to your device. You can also manually check for updates by going to Settings > System > System update.
At the moment, Asus hasn’t shared a deadline for enrollment or mentioned any cap on the number of testers, suggesting the program might stay open for an extended period.
Since this is a confidential preview, Asus advises participants not to share details of the beta software publicly. Those who enroll will have access to a special forum board for bug reporting and support.
