Google has officially introduced the Pixel 10 lineup, bringing its most advanced camera system so far. The new generation combines upgraded sensors with AI-driven tools to deliver sharper photos, smoother video, and more intuitive editing. Here’s an overview of the key upgrades and features available on the Pixel 10 series.

Upgraded camera hardware

For the first time, the Pixel 10 family comes with a 5x telephoto lens. The regular Pixel 10 is equipped with a 48 MP main sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera. The Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL step things up with a 50 MP wide lens and a 50 MP telephoto unit that supports 5x optical zoom. These two models also take advantage of Super Res Zoom, which can extend up to 100x. All three phones are powered by Google’s Tensor G5 processor for faster imaging and higher quality results.

Video recording also sees a major improvement thanks to a new optical image stabilization system that doubles the compensation range compared to last year’s models. Paired with Google’s Video Boost, this results in steadier clips across different conditions.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold introduces a 48 MP rear sensor along with upgraded ultrawide and telephoto cameras that support both Macro Focus and Super Res Zoom.

Improved photo processing

The Pixel 10 series also benefits from refinements in Google’s HDR+ pipeline. The system now delivers better colors, sharper focus, and reduced noise while preserving detail. Portrait Mode has been improved to produce more natural skin textures and sharper outlines. On the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL, users can also capture high-resolution 50 MP photos with more clarity.

AI features for easier photography

A new addition called Camera Coach is aimed at beginners. Using Gemini AI, it provides real-time suggestions for lighting, framing, and composition to help users take better photos.

Group shots are made easier with Auto Best Take. The phone analyzes as many as 150 frames and selects the version where everyone looks good. If no single frame works, it combines multiple shots into one for the best result.

Advanced zoom

The Pro models push zoom even further with Pro Res Zoom, extending the range up to 100x. Tensor G5 enhances these images using advanced processing to retain details at extreme distances. This comes in handy for capturing faraway subjects such as wildlife or landmarks.

Easier editing

Google Photos editing has also been upgraded with natural language support. You can simply type commands like “make it brighter” or “remove reflection” and the app applies those edits automatically.

Accessibility and special modes

Guided Frame, designed to assist users with vision impairments, now uses Gemini AI to offer audio prompts, vibrations, and detailed scene descriptions, making it easier to take photos independently.

Panorama Mode now integrates with the 5x telephoto camera and can capture up to 100 MP images with improved focus and zoom support.

On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, a feature called Instant View lets users check their last captured photo right beside the viewfinder when unfolded, making it quicker to retake if needed.

Content authenticity

Every phone in the Pixel 10 series now includes support for C2PA Content Credentials. This feature attaches secure metadata to each image, showing whether and how it has been edited. Everything is processed on-device, and users can check this information directly in Google Photos.
