If you are in Nigeria and planning on buying a budget smartphone, well, now is the time. A whooping N15,800 has just been slashed off the price of Xiaomi Redmi 12C, bringing the cost down to as low as N56,700.
Unbelievable right? Well, take my words; at this point, the Redmi 12C is the best smartphone money can buy in Nigeria. At this price point, no smartphone comes even close in terms of the built and hardware the Redmi 12C offers. But let’s run through a few of some of the specs you are getting under 57K.
Firstly, the Redmi 12C comes with a fairly large 6.71-inches screen with 720 x 1650 pixels. The display has a notch on the head, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera is within that space.
Flipping to the back, the 12C comes with two camera setup. Although the second camera is just a QVGA depth sensor, it is got an interesting 50-megapixel main camera, a supposed Samsung JN1 sensor with F/1.8 aperture,
In addition to other interesting connectivity options the 12C offers, it is also got a 5000mAh battery with a 10W charger, and there is a fingerprint scanner on the rear as well.
All the above features are cool, but guess what, there are not my most interesting features yet. What I like most about the Redmi 12C is the fact that it is powered by the Helio G85 8-core CPU from MediaTek. For clarity’s sake, this is the same CPU used on the recent Infinix Note 30i and the Tecno Camon 20 4G. (No hard feelings at all)
The 12C is actually available in multiple storage options, and there are priced as follows;

- 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM = N60,700
- 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM = N69,700
- 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM = N81,700
To be sincere, I had to cross-check if this Redmi 12C has Helio G85, or Helio A22, because 56,700 can not buy you some Helio A22-powered smartphones in Nigeria.
