Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G

This is Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G, also known as the CL8, and should not be confused with either the CL6, the CL7, or the CL9, all of which are varying models under the Camon 30 series. As for the Camon 30 Pro 5G, it still sits under the CL9, which is also known as the Camon 30 Pro Premier model.

Unlike last year when we saw two variations of the Camon 20 Pro (a 4G and 5G models), with the 30 series, Tecno decided to bring only a single 5G Pro model, which is a worthy successor in every way. Also, the Camon 30 Pro 5G should still not be confused with the vanilla 30 5G since both models are powered by different CPU and camera systems.

So starting from the CPU, the Camon 30 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 8200 Ultimate, which is the strongest CPU ever used in a Tecno Camon lineup. For context, this is the same CPU used on the OPPO’s Reno11 Pro 5G, Vivo V30 Pro, and the upcoming Infinix GT 20 Pro. It has 8-core CPUs maxed at 3.1GHz, along with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU.

Coming to the camera specifications, we are still getting the best in the series yet, safe for the Premier model though. This Pro unit comes with a 50-megapixel main snapper with OIS, F/1.88 aperture along OIS.

Don’t confuse this 50MP sensor with the one used on the Camon 30 non-pro models. We are talking about the Sony IMX890 sensor, the same image sensor used on the OPPO Find X6, Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, and even the latest OnePlus 12R.

In addition to the main camera, is a secondary 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor with PDAF, and a third 2-megapixel depth sensor, while a single 50-megapixel selfie snapper is used on the front.

Coming to the display wing, it is the same 6.78-inch AMOLED panel used on the other models, but this comes with 1440Hz refresh. The screen also comes with some extra coating that allows smooth usage even with wet thumbs.

As for the extras, you are getting the same 5000mAh battery with a 70W fast charger, NFC, Dolby Audio system, and Bluetooth 5.2. The Camon 30 Pro 5G comes with Android 14 OS and has an under-display fingerprint scanner. The full specification is contained in the table below.
